Course Reserve Information for Faculty

Our Course Reserve service includes the ability to add the Library’s copies OR Faculty’s personal copies of physical material to the course that you are teaching. We can also add electronic links to the Library’s course records. Students can search for the course material from the Library’s main page under the Course Reserves tab and checkout material (according to the loan period that you specify) from our Course Reserves room beside the Library Services desk. For submission requirements, please review the various details for each material type in the sections below.

  • If the material is currently signed out of the library, please allow time for a recall (this may take a few days).
  • Barcodes, removable Reserve labels, and security tape will be attached to all non-library (personal) material for  loaning purposes. Although a charge is attached to lost reserve items, the library cannot guarantee the replacement of materials that go missing from the reserve collection.
  • All materials will be removed after exams at the end of each term. If you require a different removal date, please indicate this in the Special Instructions within the form below.
  • We will send you an email at the end of the term when your personal reserve materials are ready for pick up at the Library Services Desk.

Links to Electronic Resources

  • The library is able to link to online resources such as the library databases, specific articles, ebooks and external websites. Please indicate the link’s address (URL) in the Course Reserve Request Form above. For library resources, please include the library’s permanent link where possible, similar to example below, or let us know of any issues at libraryaccounts@unbc.ca.
